The sixth Book of Ovid's Fasti is devoted to the month of June. In the foreground the poet is listening to a discussion between the divinities Concordia Juno and Hebe. In the background on the left the Muses receive Ovid at the fountain Hippocrene; on the right the ancient poet Hesiod is tending his flock.
