Collective manuscript rederijkerskamer De Roode Roose 'Register ende Inventaris'

This remarkable register started in 1611 by RenierCo (e) man bound in a solid leather band with 316 pages and contains 14 plays from the 16th and 17th century repertoire of the De Rodee Roos rederijkerskamer. 11 pieces were performed between 1565 and 1670 mostly on the occasion of Hasselt Kermis. It concerns 7 biblical or historical plays 3 zinnenspelen 1 prologue and 1 chapter with 3 pieces from the Brabant rederijker J.B. Houwaert. All together, it concerns about 18,000 verses. On the last pages are the expenses recorded in 1612 at the donation by the city of a pale court and a house in the Aldestraat and the purchase of a house at the bleach. The first 9 plays are registered by Renier Co (e) man the other pieces and the accounts by Willem de Heckeleer.
